ABOUT TEACHER TRAINING

There are two teacher training programs available for those interested in teaching the ATHLETBASE and ATHLETBASE PRO Methods.

The ATHLETBASE Level 1 Teacher Training Program is available for those interested in becoming qualified to use our equipment, and the ATHLETBASE PRO Level 2 Teacher Training Program is available for those interested in becoming a Affiliated Coach. After successfully completing one of the Level
1 Teacher Training programs, instructors continue to develop their teaching skills by taking specialized courses in the method(s) they are qualified to teach.
The ATHLETBASE and ATHLETBASE PRO methods are complementary. Some people choose to follow training in one of the methods, while others study both.

STARTING

Becoming a Coach

Take classes with an ATHLETBASE or ATHLETBASE Licensed PRO Trainer.
You can search for ATHLETBASE or ATHLETBASE PRO studios and trainers. People typically need to complete ten or more sessions of ATHLETBASE or ATHLETBASE PRO before they are experienced enough to start one of the Level 2 teacher training programs.

WHERE TO TAKE THE COURSE

ATHLETBASE or ATHLETBASE PRO teacher training courses are available on our bases with in-person or online classes.
Once students have sufficient experience to meet the prerequisites for the ATHLETBASE Level 1 Training Course or the ATHLETBASE PRO Level 2 Training Course, they will also have opportunities to host ATHLETBASE and ATHLETBASE PRO teacher training courses in their studio or facility.

PREREQUISITES

Before enrolling in any of the Level 1 teacher training programs, students must have experience and a basic understanding of the Level 1 exercises of the method they have chosen to study.
People typically take at least five ATHLETBASE classes with a licensed ATHLETBASE PRO instructor before they are experienced enough to start the ATHLETBASE Level 1 Teacher Training Program.
Government requirements for movement professionals vary internationally.

If you are interested in teaching the ATHLETBASE Method or ATHLETBASE professionally, you must first establish a good understanding of industry regulations in your region. For example, in some European countries, the government requires ATHLETBASE and ATHLETBASE PRO Trainers to hold a government-regulated license or an academic degree in a movement or therapy-related field in addition to their ATHLETBASE or ATHLETBASE PRO Trainer certification. It is the student’s responsibility to understand the specific regulations of the region in which they intend to teach and to meet industry requirements by the administrative bodies of that region.
